Sawasdi Tantisuk (1925 – 2009) was one of Thailand’s leading painters chosen to be a Thai National Artist in Painting in 1991. Sawasdi was among the first students entering Faculty of Painting and Sculpture, Silpakorn University in 1943. Not only that he was a student of Professor Silpa Bhirasri, the father of modern art in Thailand, maltepe escort but also he was assigned by Professor Silpa Bhirasri himself to teach about the theory of colors. His teaching techniques were passed on from Professor Silpa Bhirasi as Sawasdi always sat in a back row attending every lecture taught by Professor Silpa Bhirasri. One thing he was told by Professor Silpa Bhirasri is that “Painting not Coating”; by painting, one could express all their feelings through liveliness and beautifulness of their works.
